Education Programs

We have been approved as an authorized training facility for the Department of Social Development, providing the "Becoming a Personal Support Worker" course.

The course is offered basically as a correspondence course. However, students are expected to attend four full classroom days as part of the course.

In addition to this course, Home Support Workers who provide care to clients under the Provincial Program must be in receipt of their First Aid/CPR certificate before they receive their certificate.

Home Support Services has a qualified Red Cross instructor on staff. We offer First Aid/CPR courses to the staff at the agency and also to other people within the community.

Our agency also offers a variety of in service workshops to our staff, including palliative care, dealing with dementia, lifts and transfers, and others.
